BeeSensible vs traditional DLP

BeeSensible

BeeSensible acts at the point where employees are still composing their message or prompt — before it is sent. Sensitive data is highlighted in real time, directly in the text field. Employees can remove, replace, or mask the value and continue working. Nothing is blocked; the employee is informed and makes the decision.

Because BeeSensible works in the browser, it covers web-based AI tools, email clients, chat platforms, and any other web app — without a network gateway or endpoint agent. Detection runs in memory on EU infrastructure, with no message content stored.

The result is fewer workarounds. Employees who are blocked frustrate and often find ways around rules. Employees who are informed make better decisions and gradually improve their data-sharing habits.

Traditional DLP

Traditional DLP solutions operate at the network gateway, email gateway, or endpoint level. They inspect data after it has been composed — typically as it leaves the organisation — and either block transmission or generate an alert for the security team.

This approach provides hard enforcement and comprehensive audit trails, which are valuable in highly regulated environments. However, DLP acts after the workflow is already in motion: the employee has already typed the message and tried to send it. Blocked transmissions create friction, workarounds, and IT support tickets without necessarily changing employee behaviour.

Traditional DLP also struggles to cover modern browser-based AI tools because it was designed before the era of employees typing sensitive data into web-based language models.
