Friday night - Emergency Department

It was pouring when the first ambulance pulled into the grounds of St. Catherine's Hospital on Maple Avenue 112 in Riverside at 19:42. Nurse Sophie Lambert, staff number MED-4471, wiped her hands and took a deep breath.

On the stretcher lay Michael Brennan, a 34-year-old plasterer. Born on March 11, 1992, living at Elm Street 47, Riverside. He gave a mobile number that Sophie quickly noted: +1 415 555 0148. His record number, 184629375, was already in the system.

Review each finding in a document and remove, replace, or mask it before you share.

Document Redaction lets you open a PDF, see exactly what sensitive data it contains, and produce a clean version before you share it.

How it works

  1. Open the Document Redaction tool in the desktop app, or the Documents section of the dashboard.
  2. Add a PDF.
  3. BeeSensible scans it and highlights sensitive data: names, IBANs, BSNs, addresses, and more.
  4. For each finding, choose to remove it, replace it with a placeholder, or leave it. You can also draw a box by hand over anything it missed.
  5. Export the clean copy.

Your original file is never changed. The clean copy is a separate file, with hidden document properties stripped so nothing leaks through the metadata.

Which data types get highlighted is set by a redaction profile. Your admin picks a default that applies automatically, but you can switch to another available profile from the toolbar for a single document, for example a stricter one before sending a file externally.

Supported files

Document Redaction works with PDF files. Scanned PDFs without a text layer are not supported yet.

Where it runs

Depending on your organisation's setting, redaction runs entirely on your own device (through the desktop app) or in BeeSensible's EU cloud, where the document is processed in working memory and discarded. Nothing is stored.
