Review detections and replace, mask, or delete

There are two places to handle a detection. Move your mouse over a highlight in your text and a small window with the actions appears right there. For the full list, open the side panel: on supported sites a tab with the BeeSensible logo sits at the right edge of the page, showing a count as soon as something is found. The panel also works with the keyboard.

#What is in the list

Each detection in the panel shows:

• the detected value;
• the data type, such as email address or name;
• the level: Critical, Sensitive, or Handled;
• three buttons: Replace, Mask, and Delete.

#Replace

Replace turns the real value into a fictional but realistic-looking one. Use it when the structure of your text should stay intact, but the real data should not be shared.

The same value gets the same replacement throughout your message, and two different names never collapse onto one fictional name. Who is who keeps making sense, including in the AI tool's answer.

#Mask

Mask swaps in a numbered label, like [NAME1] or [IBAN1]. The same value keeps the same number everywhere; a second name becomes [NAME2]. Useful for prompts where the model only needs to know what kind of data was there and which mentions belong together.

#Delete

Delete removes the value from your text. That can leave a gap in the sentence; rewrite the sentence around it if it does.

#Apply to all occurrences

The window on a highlight has an Apply to all occurrences switch. Turn it on before you choose, and your action applies to every occurrence of the same value. Useful when the same name or address appears several times.

#Send without action

Sending is not blocked. If you reviewed the detections and sharing is fine in this context, send the message as normal.

If your organisation uses the desktop app, this works the same way in Outlook desktop, the ChatGPT app, the Claude app, and Microsoft Copilot. Move your mouse over an underline and pick the replacement, the mask label, or Delete; the Apply to all switch covers every occurrence. The fix lands directly in the app's own text field.
