Getting started

Install the extension

Install BeeSensible in Chrome or Edge, sign in with Google, Microsoft, or a sign-in link, and check that highlights appear.

BeeSensible runs as an extension in Chrome and Edge. Installing and signing in takes a few minutes, and on a workplace your organisation manages, part of it is already done for you.

Add the extension to your browser

If you received an invitation email from your organisation, it contains the install links for Chrome and Edge. No email? Open the store page directly:

Click the install button in the store and confirm that you want to add the extension.

Click the BeeSensible icon in the toolbar and choose how to sign in:

  • Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft: sign in with that account. Use the address your organisation invited you on.
  • Continue with email: enter your work address and click Email me a sign-in link. Open the email and click the button; the sign-in screen continues by itself. No password needed.

On a managed workplace you see a single button, Continue with work account, and sign-in can also start on its own. You then briefly see "Signing in with your work account...". A link below the button leads to the other sign-in options.

The sign-in link does not arrive

Check your spam folder and the address you entered. A link is only sent to an address that already has a BeeSensible account: use the address from your invitation, or sign in with Google or Microsoft. On the waiting screen, Use a different e-mail address starts over.

Check that it works

Open a supported app, for example ChatGPT or Gmail, and type a test sentence with a made-up phone number, such as +44 20 7946 0958.

No highlight appears

Use the icon to check that you are signed in and that you are typing in a supported app, then refresh the tab. More checks are in Troubleshooting.

The desktop app, if your organisation uses it

Some organisations run detection on your own device instead of in the cloud. The extension then needs the BeeSensible desktop app and says so itself: the popup shows Desktop app required as long as the app is missing. Download it through the button in that message or from the download page. On a managed workplace, the app may already be installed for you.

Updates

The browser updates the extension automatically through the store; there is nothing to reinstall. Your version is shown at the bottom of the extension settings.
