Frequently asked questions

Common questions from users and admins about how BeeSensible works.

General

Does BeeSensible read and store my messages?

The extension sends the text you type to the BeeSensible API for analysis. The text is processed in working memory inside our EU infrastructure and discarded immediately. The text is not written to disk and not stored. What is stored is detection metadata: the category, severity, app, and user action. Never the text itself.

Does BeeSensible block me from sending messages?

No. BeeSensible highlights sensitive data and leaves the choice with you.

Why did BeeSensible flag something that is not sensitive?

Detection is pattern-based, not context-aware. A string that looks like a phone number or an IBAN can be flagged even if it is a product code or a fictional example. Dismiss the detection without acting. If the same kind of false positive happens often, your admin can adjust the detection profile.

Does BeeSensible work in incognito mode?

Extension permissions in incognito depend on your browser settings. In Chrome and Edge, extensions are off in incognito by default unless you explicitly enable them. Once enabled, BeeSensible works the same way as in a regular window.

Installation and access

I did not receive an invitation email.

Check your spam folder. If it is not there, ask your BeeSensible admin to resend the invitation.

My invitation link expired.

Ask your admin to resend the invitation. The new link is valid for the same period as the original.

The extension icon does not appear after installation.

In Chrome or Edge, click the extensions icon in the toolbar to see installed extensions and pin BeeSensible.

I am signed in but no detections appear.

Run through the checks in Troubleshooting.

For admins

How do I add an app that is not in the default list?

You cannot add custom apps from the dashboard. BeeSensible provides the app list; admins can enable or disable entries and assign detection profiles. If an app is missing, contact hello@beesensible.eu.

A user's extension stopped working after they changed their email.

Authentication is tied to the user's email address. Ask the user to sign out of the extension, then reinvite them under their new email. Detection history under the old address stays in the analytics dashboard subject to the retention policy.

Where can I find the data processing agreement?

Email trust@beesensible.eu for the DPA, the product DPIA, and the customer DPIA template.
