Frequently asked questions
Common questions from users and admins about how BeeSensible works.

Monitor sensitive-data detections across your team
General
Does BeeSensible read what I type?
The extension analyses the text in input fields of supported apps to detect sensitive data. In cloud mode that text goes to BeeSensible's servers inside the EU, is checked in working memory, and is discarded straight after. If your organisation runs detection on the device, the text never leaves the machine. The text is never stored; what is kept are counts only: which type of data, in which app, and what the user did with it.
Does BeeSensible block sending messages?
No. BeeSensible highlights sensitive data and leaves the choice to the user. Nothing is ever held back or changed automatically.
Why does BeeSensible flag something that is not sensitive?
Detection is based on models and patterns. Text that looks like sensitive data can get a highlight even when it carries no risk in that context. If the same kind of alert keeps coming back, an admin can adjust or disable that data type in the detection profile.
Can an admin see what a colleague typed?
No. The dashboard shows counts per data type, app, and action, never the content itself. There is no per-employee view anywhere.
Installation and access
A colleague did not receive the invitation email
Ask them to check spam first. You can then send the invitation again: open Organisation, find the member in the list, and pick Resend invitation from the actions menu.
The extension icon does not appear after installation
Click the puzzle-piece icon in the Chrome or Edge toolbar and pin BeeSensible. The icon then stays next to the address bar.
Document Redaction is missing from the menu
Document redaction is a separate module that is switched on per organisation and belongs to the subscription. With the module off, the feature is absent from the dashboard, the desktop app, and the extension. Email hello@beesensible.eu to add the module to your subscription.
For admins
Where do I configure what gets highlighted?
For the highlights while typing: Realtime Privacy → Profiles. Each profile sets which data types are on and at which level (Standard is yellow, Critical is red). Inside the profile, Where this profile applies assigns the apps that should use it; apps without their own profile follow the Default profile.
Document redaction has its own profiles, under Document Redaction → Profiles. Those have no app assignment and no levels: only which data types get detected.
How long does BeeSensible keep the numbers?
The counts behind the dashboards (which data type, in which app, which action, when) are kept for at most 24 months, rolling; a daily cleanup removes anything older. The typed text itself is never stored.
