Apps and websites
How apps get their detection profile, how to limit or switch off detection somewhere, and which apps and websites BeeSensible covers.
Pick the apps that should use this profile. Any app you don’t assign keeps using the Default profile.
Apps labelled Web + desktop also apply to the BeeSensible desktop app.
Every app your team works in follows a detection profile. There is no separate apps screen: you assign apps inside the profile itself, in the Where this profile applies section. Any app you assign nowhere keeps using the profile with the Default badge, so nothing is ever left uncovered.
You find the profiles in the menu under Realtime Privacy → Profiles.
Assigning apps to a profile
Open or create a profile
Open Realtime Privacy → Profiles and click a profile card, or New Profile for a fresh one.
Tick the apps
In the Where this profile applies section, look up the apps (the search field says Search apps) and tick them. Apps labelled Web + desktop also apply to the BeeSensible desktop app.
If an app currently sits on another profile, you see it right away: it is marked Moves from with that profile's name.
Save
Click Save profile in the bar at the bottom. Everything you did not tick simply stays on the Default profile.
This is how you tune detection per application: an AI tool can use a stricter profile than an internal email environment. Which profile counts as the default is up to you, via Set default on a profile card.
Limiting or switching off detection
Two routes, depending on how far you want to go:
- Quieter: switch data types off inside the profile, or set them to Standard (yellow highlight) instead of Critical (red highlight, high visibility).
- Off entirely: assign the app to the No detection profile, via the profile card with that name. The screen there is called Turn off detection for apps and warns exactly what it does: apps you add there are not scanned, BeeSensible detects and highlights nothing in them. Remove an app from that list to protect it again.
Supported apps and websites
The browser extension runs on the following apps and websites:
Missing an app? Every profile's app list has a Request an app button. Email works too: hello@beesensible.eu.
