How apps and documents are assigned a detection profile, how to tone down or switch off detection for an app and where BeeSensible helps.
Pick the apps that should use this profile. Any app you don’t assign keeps using the Default profile.
For apps labelled Web + desktop, the profile also applies in the BeeSensible desktop app.

On DefaultEvery app where BeeSensible helps follows a detection profile, which sets what BeeSensible highlights in that app and how strictly. You assign apps in the profile itself, under Policy > Detection profiles, because there is no separate screen for apps. Documents are ticked there in the same way as an app. Any app you do not assign follows the profile with the Default badge, so no app is ever without a profile.

Assigning apps to a profile
Open or create a profile
Open Policy > Detection profiles and click a profile card, or New profile.
Tick the apps
In the Apps and documents section, find the apps with Search apps and tick them. Tick Documents if the profile should also apply to documents. For an app labelled Web + desktop, the profile covers both the website and the desktop app.
If an app currently follows another profile, it shows Moves from followed by that profile's name. If the list is empty, the extension has not reported any activity yet; the apps appear as soon as employees start using BeeSensible.
Save
Click Save profile at the bottom. Anything you do not tick stays on the default profile.
In this way you can, for example, give an AI tool a stricter profile than your internal email. You choose which profile is the default with Set default on a profile card. The AI register shows which profile applies to each allowed tool, and also states when BeeSensible does not help in a tool.
Limiting or switching off detection
If BeeSensible highlights more in an app than is useful, you have two options.
- Fewer highlights: switch data types off in the profile, or set them to Standard (yellow) instead of Critical (red).
- Detection off entirely: assign the app to the No detection profile. The profile card with that name opens the Turn off detection screen. BeeSensible does not scan the apps you add there and highlights nothing in them. If you remove an app from that list, it is checked again.
Where BeeSensible helps
The extension helps in the apps people already work in, such as AI tools, email, chat and social networks. The desktop app adds Outlook desktop, the ChatGPT app, the Claude app and Microsoft Copilot.

Facebook BeeSensible also sees which AI tools your team opens beyond this list, and any AI tool someone visits that has no decision yet appears in the Inbox. Help while people type is only available in the apps above.
